"VRN: P872 POW and MOT to July 2022. Just 36,000 recorded miles, four keepers while in the United Kingdom since reimported in 1997, the last three from the same family. Only 3,000 miles covered since 2011 with invoices that detail recent expenditure including replacement fan/air-con belts in September 2020, a new battery in 2020 (with 4-year Halford’s guarantee) and a service in May 2018 by Peaslake Garage which included changing of the brake fluid. Said to be in “very good” condition throughout it is offered with Swansea V5C and a current MoT to June 2022."

Comment: with a VIN of 2012 it was one of the last RV8s and produced in 1997. Without an inspection it is felt to be probably Condition 2 and offered as a private sale, but even as a Condition 2 example the price seems around 8% lower than one would expect. Advertised in August 2021 on the V8 website for £18,000 ono.

"1997 MG RV8 3947 cc V8 open sports tourer with 35,700 miles , All UK MOT certificates since reimportation supplied. Superbly presented in its Woodcote Green metallic coachwork and the contrasting beige leather interior is also superb . Beautiful walnut veneers, all topped by a black double duck hood. Serviced a week ago and a new battery fitted. MOT expires June 2022. I note the RV8 is fitted with a stainless steel exhaust system and excellent tyres all round. The oil is clean and new plugs have also just been fitted. It starts easily and drives without apparent fault with easy gear change and accurate braking. Ready for delivery or collection. Supplied with current V5C, handbook pack, workshop manuals, supporting history file, original tool roll, hood cover and tonneau cover."

Comment: the pricing suggests the trader considers this RV8 justifies a full Condition 1 price. The original interior dashboard and door cappings are in Elm burr and not Walnut as the listing mentions.
