Report on this MGBGTV8 (Tundra 1118) from Thomas Klein
This car was part of the auction in Warwickshire on 24th September 2016. It was listed on the V8 Pricewatch webpage on the V8 website - text is reproduced above. Only for this car I travelled from Germany to England for a weekend to try to win the auction. The description of the car was a good reading and it mentioned there were only two owners before. Unfortunately in reality I found the car was in a bad condition, rotten underneath, wet brake pipes . . . The V5 document said there were 14 owners! Unbelievable. After 5 minutes I knew not to buy this car. The first bid was £16.000 and as nobody else bid, so the hammer price was the first bid together with the buyer's premium and VAT it was £17,920. Good luck!

1974 MGBGT V8 For Sale by Auction
This car will be auctioned by Classic Car Auctions on Saturday 24th of September at the Warwickshire Exhibition Centre CV31 1XN. For further information please contact the office on 01926 640888 Estimate £12,000 - £15,00. Super, well cared for, MGB V8. Even in their darkest days, British Leyland managed to produce one or two gems and the short-lived, Buick-engined, MGB GT V8 of 1973-'76 is a prime example. Having been with its current owner for the last 30 years this 1974 V8, finished in Tundra with a complementing Autumn Leaf interior, has been maintained regardless of cost and is a true survivor. Affectionately known as "Roxy", ROX 933M was originally delivered to Timberlake of Wigan on the 28th of December 1973, and first registered on the 16th May 1974 to its first owner in St Ives. It has never been restored, simply regularly maintained and cared for on an ongoing basis. Sensible upgrades include a 2 x 12v battery conversion and a stainless steel exhaust system. The MOT test was recently passed with no advisories. With performance better than a 2+2 E-type and nudging the DB6, these wonderful-sounding V8s are underrated and represent tremendous value in the world of classic British sports cars.
