Remember
the launch of MG RV8 model in 1992
As we reach the 35th anniversary of the launch of the MG RV8, we reflect
on how the model was received in October 1992 by the motoring press
as a new MG model. The MG RV8 was part of the essential effort to
keep the MG brand alive in the years after the sad closure of MG Plant
at Abingdon.

RV8
- concept,
development and production of a modern classic
In 2003 a group of V8 enthusiasts listened to a fascinating
talk by John Yea (L) and David Bishop (R) on what had inspired
the RV8 development team to do what was an extraordinary low
budget project - creating a modern classic sportscar to keep
the name of MG alive as a modern brand. The comment you remember
they mentioned is "Projects like
that just don't happen like that any more".
