Temporary
loss of access to the Members only area on the Club website
Update
I have just made a check and successfully logged-in to the Members
area on the Club website using my MG Car Club membership number. I
was able to view a digital copy of the current issue of Safety Fast!.
As soon as we have confirmation from the Club's IT services supplier
via Club Office this news item will be updated.

Due
to a significant hardware failure earlier this week at the datacentre
used by one of our IT suppliers, the member login functionality
of the MG Car Club website is currently unavailable, as it relies
on the affected vendor to authenticate login requests. |
Club
director Sean Round says "due to a significant hardware
failure earlier this week at the datacentre used by one of our
IT suppliers, the member login functionality of the MG Car Club
website is currently unavailable, as it relies on the affected
vendor to authenticate login requests. All customers of the
affected vendor are currently experiencing similar issues.
Much like our cars, mechanical and electrical IT systems fail
often without warning this is all that has happened
in this instance. This hardware failure means that while the
MG Car Club website is available online and fully intact, facilities
including the Safety Fast! magazine archive, Advantage member
benefits and all other member-only resources that sit behind
the membership login page, cannot be accessed at this time.
Engineers have been working constantly since the hardware failure
occurred to get the affected systems back online. However, it
is not a quick process, requiring hardware replacements to be
completed as well as the restoration of software and data.
We will continue to provide updates as and when we have more
information to share. We appreciate and thank you for your continued
patience while this situation is being resolved as quickly as
possible".
