Martin Evans in Powys says "Today marks fifty years since Bracken 1773 was first registered - it seems hard to credit. In that time it's covered an average annual mileage of just over a 1,000 miles. I hope to add a few miles to its total of 51,393 after work today. My father David Evans owned it from 5th January 1985. I have owned a Midget 1500 for forty years. He feels that whilst "the V8 isn't so well suited to the lanes around the south side of Llangorse Lake, the Midget wouldn't be so well suited to longer trips or faster roads." He also has a Morris Minor Traveller or his mother's BGT as "runabouts but enjoys a run in the MGBGTV8".
Martin recalls "Bracken 1773 was my father's all time favorite (Beating a Frazer Nash Le Mans Replica and a Lotus Elan Sprint to that accolade) and not long before he died, he asked me which of the cars we then had was my favorite." He also has a Morris Minor Traveller but adds " the Midget and the V8, having been with us for around forty years, they are the senior partners, each providing a wealth of happy memories."

Martin notes the MGBGTV8 "has had a Black interior since 1993 and an SD1 gearbox plus a Holley 390 carburettor. It also has a Quaiffe differential and Revolution 5-spoke wheels with 185/70 tyres and heat vents in the bonnet."
