The
cost of the Club's stand at this major 3 day classic car show
was covered by the generous support of a sponsor, the Club Office
staff who volunteered to commute to and from the NEC on each
day to avoid expensive hotel costs near the NEC, and the Club
directors and other volunteers providing support for the stand
each paid their own transport and hotel accommodation costs.
So there was no cost for the Club for the stand at the
NEC. In fact the recruitment of many new Club members at the
NEC and sales of regalia at the Club Shop on the stand generated
a welcome income for the Club from having an attractive stand

The
table at this event was paid for by a private sponsor and the
Club directors, members and the guests on the Club's table each
paid their own transport and overnight accommodation costs,
so there was no cost for the Club. The clear benefit
for the Club was to receive the "Best Club of the Year
Award" at a major classic car motoring awards event. It
was also an opportunity for the volunteer team who had made
the MG & Triumph 100 meeting a success (which was surely
a significant factor behind the decision to make the award),
to be there and see the Club receive such a significant historic
motoring award. See news

The
winners of the 2023 historic awards will be announced at a glittering
evening at the Royal Automobile Club on Pall Mall on Thursday
23 November 2023. The Awards are a set of annual accolades recognising
excellence and outstanding contributions to the UK's historic
motoring and motorsport industries. Again the Club members and
any guests attending the event for the Club will each pay for
their own transport and overnight accommodation costs, so there
will be no cost for the Club. |
