Like several other one-make clubs, the Club has been unable to stem the tide of rising circuit hire costs and car preparation costs and diminishing race entries, all leading to the inescapable reality that circuit racing is no longer viable for the Club". 231030 More Ending MG Car Club motor racing events There was reluctant but general agreement of Council members representing their CRBs at the recent Council meeting in October 2023 to the decision that the Club shall cease planning, arranging and holding race meetings because of the serious financial risks involved and the uncertainties over race entries in recent seasons. This was agreed by a vote at the Council meeting. A suggested alternative of holding the Club's major annual event with only activities inside the Silverstone circuit will not be affordable for the Club because of the high circuit hire charges for the weekend. So there will be no MGLive! 2024 at Silverstone. An Inter-Club International event at Malvern in 2024 is being planned. More news on that event will be available in the New Year.
