Display
on Abingdon Market Place
In the early morning sunshine on the Market
Place the display of MGV8s rapidly developed as V8 members
arrived. Many many local people passing through the Market
Place or visiting the cafes stopped and mentioned how they
by remember how MG was such a major part of Abingdon life
until sadly the Factory closed in 1981. See

MGV8-50
Anniversary event at Gaydon
Many members joined the event at the British Motor Museum at
Gaydon to celebrate the launch of the MGBGTV8 50 years ago in
August 1973. Over 100 MGV8s attended from all over the UK and
from Europe. There was a special parking area for MGV8s in front
of the Museum and the focus of the event was in two meeting
rooms inside the Museum.
Refreshments room with Club and trader stands
Kimber House had a stand in the refreshments meeting room together
with John Benton V8 secondhand parts specialist from Manchester,
Classic Car LED lighting, a second hand book dealer and Cherished
Car Insurance. In an adjoining meeting room talks were arranged
during the day on a variety of popular topics. Outside there
was a display of several notable MGV8s including Citron
0798 the Earls Court 1973 Motor Show car.
An MGV8-50 cake was cut by Brigitte Kallenberg alongside
Tony Smith (V8 Chairman). Brigitte was over with Walter from
Essen in Germany in their MGBGTV8.
