V8 awards made in 2015

Four awards are made each year.

Chris Dodds Award - to Howard Gosling in 2015
The award is held for 12 months and for 2015 it was presented to Howard Gosling
for his work as Club Vice Chairman and race support for many years. Howard Gosling, a founding member and an enthusiastic MGV8 member with an MGBGTV8 LE conversion (converted by B&G from new) and an ex David Franklyn V8 Roadster, both used as daily cars. The MGBGTV8 has clocked up a very high mileage and was rebuily by B&G in 2005. In 2014 the award went to Ron Gammons.

The Chris Dodds Award is in memory of an enthusiastic Australian V8 member who died so early. The present award is the second because the first one was filled with silver shields recording the recipients.
Ian Lloyd Cup 2015 - to Darren Allsworth
This trophy was first awarded in 2002 in memory of a very popular and cheerful RV8, MGBGTV8 and T-Type enthusiast, the late Ian Lloyd. The trophy is "awarded to a member who has brought good cheer and humour to the V8 Register over many years". In 2011 the cup went to Steve Newton who regularly helps the V8 Webmaster with information and photos for articles and news items on the V8 website.

The award for 2015 went to Darren Allsworth
(husband of our Club membership secretary Liz) for his very generous volunteer work over many years driving a lorry from Club Office to MGLive! to bring all the supplies needed by the Club and working throughout the weekend as part of the event team run by Lauran Gallacher.
Geoff Allen Cup 2015 - to Robert MacGillivray
This trophy was awarded for the first time in 2007 in memory of Geoff Allen, a much loved V8 enthusiast who brought a wealth of technical knowledge to the V8 Register and acted as historian and guardian of a copy of the V8 Factory records for many years. in 2011 the award went to Lauran Gallacher who first joined the MG Car Club as a work experience student. Lauran was the leader of the MGLive! 2015 team.

The award for 2015 went to Robert MacGillivray
as one of the hardworking members of the Caledonian Centre team that arranged the very successful European Event of the Year at Aviemore in 2013. Robert has and RV8 and ZT260V8. The award was presented at the V8 Supper on Friday 19th June 2015 at the Three Conies.
John Target Cup - to Mike Breedon
This award is is awarded annually in memory of a much missed V8 enthusiast and regular at Hook Norton and MGLive!, John Targett, who sadly passed away in 2014. The first award in 2014 went to John Yea, the regular racer of an MGB and figurehead at BMH body plant at Witney where the V8 Register has been invited many times for tours of the plant.

The award for 2015 went to Mike Breedon for his hard work running the BCV8 Championship for many years and racing V8s
