Visit to Bletchley Park
Bletchley Park - home of the codebreakers
Once Britain's best-kept secrets, today Bletchley Park, is a unique heritage site and a popular tourist attraction follwoing the release of the film. The V8 group visiting on Thursday 18th June enjoyed exploring the huts and blocks in which the top-secret world of codebreaking went on in WW2. Over recent years the buildings have been maintained well and inside the displays in each room are both atmospheric and informative. Bletchely website

Our visit to Bletchley Park included a one-hour guided tour around the park with its Victorian house, visiting many of the huts with their displays describing the work carried out there by the codebreaking team. The high point was seeing the new reconstructed Turing Bombe machine. The lady explaining how it worked with a live running demonstration. The visit was arranged by Nic Houslip.
