Ride before you Buy!
Sunday 4th October 2026

In beautiful sunshine the event was hosted by the Abingdon Cricket Club on Hales Meadow, just south of Abingdon Bridge, attracted many visitors, both Club members and the wider public. They were able to see a wide range of MGs and meet the owners, sit in the cars, discuss information on the cars and advice on getting an MG. Also available was the opportunity to enjoy a short passenger ride in an MGV8 out to Culham east of Abingdon. They returnined with smiles indicating it was an enjoyable experience which was encouraging them to get an MGV8!

Along with other MG Car Club Registers, the V8 Register supported this attractive event which enjoyed beautiful sunshine, after early morning fog had cleared. Many people visited the MGV8 display and discussed the cars with the owners - three MGRV8s and a production chrome bumper MGBGTV8 - and some enjoyed a short test ride out to Culham and back.

The event was arranged by the Abingdon Works Centre and supported by the Club Office team with a marquee where Andy Knott was providing information and support and Ineke Sherman offering a display of Club Shop items for sale.
