MGBGTV8 suffers a deer collision

Howard Gosling says "I am still awaiting the completion of the repair of Quick Silver after a deer jumped in front of me on the 13th May when I was on an early morning trip from Sherborne to Suffolk for a funeral of a former employee. It was dark when the deer decided to try and cross the road in front of me just East of Mere on the A303". Howard has sent in a few photos of the damage. Photos

Howard's MGBGTV8 was converted to V8 power by Brown & Gammons when he bought it as a brand new rubber bumper model near the end of production at MG Abingdon.
It's finished in the Silver body colour and he has since called the car "Quick Silver". Brown & Gammons are carrying out the repairs and the final respray should be completed this month.

Risk of deer deer jumping in front of your MGBGTV8 is alarming
The risk is particularly worrying at dawn and near dusk, as deer can emerge suddenly from the cover of brown coloured bracken and ferns and trees at the side of roads and it's often difficult to see them loitering or approaching to cross a road - usually dashing across. A deer, even a young creature, is a large object to hit even at modest speeds and substantial damage is usually the result. In can result in a write-off and in some cases with injury to the driver or passenger.

Take care with early morning routes or as dusk approaches.
