Rousham House is a particularly attractive, privately owned house which has been in the same family for over 500 years. It has exceptional gardens running down to the River Cherwell which were landscaped by William Kent in the late 17th Century. It is likely to be a popular visit with wives, partners and friends of V8 members with a relaxed drive reaching Rousham by mid morning, then an opportunity for a guided tour of Rousham House and a visit to the gardens where you can enjoy your picnic lunch. The house is only open to special tour groups by prior arrangement so in the morning a guided tour of Rousham House has been arranged for V8 members.

Please note:
Rousham House has no catering facilities so you will need to bring morning coffee and refreshments together with a picnic lunch. Clearly having a picnic in the gardens will depend on fair weather so be prepared for alternative arrangements if the weather is inclement. There are toilets adjacent to the car park.

Garden opening times are from 10.00am to 4.30pm. No dogs or children under the age of 15 years are admitted.
The gardens at Rousham House in Oxfordshire are a wonderful sight.

More details of Rousham House and gardens are available at www.rousham.org

Timing for the day
Please arrive from 10.00am in time to assemble at the main entrance to the house for the special guided tour of Rousham House which will begin at 11.00am prompt.
Friends are welcome to join your visit to Rousham and the guided tour. Booking a place on the guided tour is necessary for both V8 members and friends.
House Tours take about 40 minutes and can take up to 50 people on a tour by splitting the group in half and using two guides. The guides will guide their groups in opposing directions around the House without meeting until at the end of tour when the groups will converge in the Hall.

Following the guided tour of the house most members will wish to visit the the magnificent gardens either before or after their picnic lunch. There is very limited shelter if there is inclement weather.
