Wanted a Factory chrome bumper MGBGTV8
It must be structurely sound although a respray is no problem. As original as possible but anything considered. I previously owned an immaculate early MGBGTV8 which was later sold to get an RV8 which has in turn been sold recently as I very much want to get a V8 again. I am based in Holland and a fluent English speaker so would welcome calls with news of any V8s for sale. (18.2.10)

Private sale - Factory chrome bumper MGBGTV8
Tundra 1738 with less than 70,000 miles in reasonable condition has been owned by its elderly owner from new but he now feels he can now longer drive it easily so wants it to go to an enthusiast who will look after it. He does not want it to go to a dealer or trade buyer. It has a thicker anti-roll bar and adjustable Konis on the back but otherwise it is Factory standard. If you are looking for an original MGBGTV8 in need of some TLC and a good home then this is one you might consider. Awaiting photos and feedback from the seller as to whether it is still available. (23.2.10) Location: Lancashire.
Private sale - V8 Roadster built on a Heritage shell
Primrose 4266, a V8 Roadster built from a 1974 Factory MGBGTV8 (Chartreuse 1266), completely overhauled and re-bodied with a Heritage roadster shell supplied and painted by Brown & Gammons and retaining all the Factory V8 components, including engine, O/D gearbox, back axle, brakes and steering. Minilite wheels, adjustable telescopic shocks, primrose yellow paint, black leather interior and mohair hood. Unmarked "as new" condition. Has been in a private collection since it was completed in 2006 and regularly serviced by a marque specialist with all minor teething problems sorted. Regular but limited use, with only approximately 2,000 miles in total. As good a V8 Roadster as you'll find and as near to a Factory roadster as is possible. Only selling due to lack of space. Would cost over £20,000 to replicate today. Asking £14,995 (15.2.10) More

Wanted Costello V8 or Factory MGBGTV8
I am an MG enthusiasts with a pre-war MG L Type but have had V8s in the familly since the late 1970s and my mother had Glacier White 0137 with a very low mileage. I am looking for a Costello V8 or Factory MGBGTV8, but I'm also happy to consider a tired car that needs some TLC - but not major rebuilds.

Wanted - Factory MGBGTV8
Minimum requirement is a structurally sound car but anything up to excellent examples considered. Colour, general trim and interior condition is not important, but no Webastos please. Must be free from any of the usual major issues, but in need of some mechanical or other TLC is fine. Car will go to a good home - I'm a ZT260 and TC owner and lifelong enthusiast. (28.10.09)

Private sale - Factory MGBGTV8 in poor condition
Damask 0400
(73 M) car is in a very poor condition sadly but Roger Boys has seen it and believes it is rebuildable providing the buyer has plenty of money and time. The bodywork is a complete basketcase, it was possible to put a hand through some of the panels. However there are many parts that would be reusable in the right hands, not least by an enthusiast building a V8 Roadster. Offers. (6.10.09) More

Beware of scam from an overseas V8 buyer!
Rick Morton has reported a scam which members who are selling a V8 need to note. Rick says "I just thought I would update you on my experience with trying to sell my RV8 recently before I withdrew it from sale. Both Jerry Winfield (Woodcote Green 1684) and I heard from the same person but I also had several other emails with roughly the same approach. Basically this person who is overseas agrees to buy your car, and will send you a cheque for more than the asking price to cover shipping costs etc. He then asks if you could bank the cheque and send the balance to his shipping agent via a money transfer. The cheque bounces but only after you have sent the cash to the shipping agent. This scam relies on your ignorance of how the cheque clearing system works. Problems arise because banks update their computers on day three of the clearing cycle. So if you check with them at that time, you may very well be told that the funds are available. It will only be on day four that the bank realises that there is a problem, and on day five that they tell you. Weekends and Bank Holidays all add to the delay. In my case the scam merchant was going to send me a cheque for £3,400 more than I was asking for the car. I was to subtract the cost of the car and send the remainder to his "shipping agent"." So members need to be alert to this scam and any approach from the scam merchant!
