Private sale - Factory MGBGTV8 in Citron registered 1st Aug 1974 - SOLD in only 4 days
Citron 1638
with 95,291 miles. I bought the car in April 2005 and have dry stored it since. The car had been off the road for ten years before that. Some work had been done towards returning it to the road when I bought it. Over the past 8 years I have replaced many items to get the car back on the road but time is not something I have been able to spend on it. Parts include exhaust, starter motor, fuel pump, radiator, and refurbished front callipers and hoses. The car runs but needs work to get it back on the road. Price £2,500 130511

Private sale - DEV 2, the second Project Adder development car
It was built in 1990 by Mark Gamble at BMH using a new Heritage MGB shell and fitted with a 3.9 injection engine supplied by Land Rover Engineering. The car has covered just over 26,000 miles and is in very good condition. It has a 3.9i V8 with 5 speed box with uprated suspension and brakes. Apart from its obvious historic importance, it is a very fast usable car. It may look like an ordinary MGB, apart from its RV8 bonnet and prototype styled front end, but its performance is far from ordinary. It comes with a comprehensive history file and documents relating to its ownership with BMH and Rover Group. I am only selling this car as I need the room. The last time I used it was in 2010 and it is now on SORN. It will be given a new 12 months MOT for the new owner. This is a genuine works development car with documented history. I am open to sensible offers around £14,000. 080912 More

Beware of scam from an overseas V8 buyer!
Rick Morton has reported a scam which members who are selling a V8 need to note. Rick says "I just thought I would update you on my experience with trying to sell my RV8 recently before I withdrew it from sale. Both Jerry Winfield (Woodcote Green 1684) and I heard from the same person but I also had several other emails with roughly the same approach. Basically this person who is overseas agrees to buy your car, and will send you a cheque for more than the asking price to cover shipping costs etc. He then asks if you could bank the cheque and send the balance to his shipping agent via a money transfer. The cheque bounces but only after you have sent the cash to the shipping agent. This scam relies on your ignorance of how the cheque clearing system works. Problems arise because banks update their computers on day three of the clearing cycle. So if you check with them at that time, you may very well be told that the funds are available. It will only be on day four that the bank realises that there is a problem, and on day five that they tell you. Weekends and Bank Holidays all add to the delay. In my case the scam merchant was going to send me a cheque for £3,400 more than I was asking for the car. I was to subtract the cost of the car and send the remainder to his "shipping agent"." So members need to be alert to this scam and any approach from the scam merchant!
