On Friday 20th June 2003 Victor Smith will be visiting the independent brewery at Hook Norton to collect supplies of real ale for the V8 Marquee at Silverstone. This has been an enjoyable annual pilgrimage for over twenty years. Why not join him for a visit to the brewery and lunch at a Hook Norton pub in the village.

A guided tour of the brewery is available at £7.50 starting at 10.00am prompt but early reservations with Victor Smith will be essential to secure a tour slot with the brewery.

What are the arrangements and timing for the visit?
The plan for the visit is to meet in the visitor car park alongside the visitor centre at the brewery at 9.45am. The guided tours of the brewery start at 10.00am prompt and end at 11.55am in the visitor centre. The tour includes free samples of the beers and a Hook Norton beer glass. Following the tour we will have an informal lunch at the Pear Tree Inn, one of the brewery's pubs in the village, just after noon. After lunch at around 1.15pm we will collect the polypins of Hook Norton best bitter from the cellar door, load them into the V8s and then follow the traditional route through the lanes from Hook Norton to Silverstone arriving at the Circuit at around 2.30pm.

What is the charge for the event?
If we attract sufficient bookings, a guided tour of the brewery can be arranged. The cost is £7.50 each. If there is no guided tour, there is no charge for the event. For members wishing to make the guided tour of the brewery, early booking is recommended as the group size is limited to 10 people by the constraints of the brewery. For members wishing to join us just for the route from Hook Norton to Silverstone, there is of course no charge.

Yes it is in the V8 Pass package of benefits. The availability of the tour is subject to a sufficient number of reservations.

Hook Norton Brewery where beer is made in the traditional way and much liked by V8 enthusiasts in the V8 Marquee at Silverstone - hence the need to collect sufficient supplies!
