Tour and Dinner
With good weather the tour of six churches around
Watlington in Oxfordshire was an enjoyable and interesting day. Breakfast at the
Coach & Horses in Chiselhampton, lunch at the Chequers Inn at Fingest, tea
at Ewelme church and dinner at the Red Lion in Chalgrove.
The six churches
were: St Katherine's at Chiselhampton All Saints' Chapel at Nuneham Park All
Saints' church at Shirburn St Bartholomew's at Fingest St Botolph's at Swyncombe St
Mary the Virgin at Ewelme
A guided tour and tea at Ewelme church were provided
by the ladies of Ewelme one of whom is the daughter of the late Peter Tothill
(an RV8 enthusiast). Tudur Jones (organist at St Davids Catholic church
in Tywyn in Gwynedd) provided a short organ recital.

tour was organised by Charles Peers, an RV8 member and farmer near Chiselhampton,
with support from his son Tom and partner with guided tours of several churches.
