Churches Tour and Dinner

With good weather the tour of six churches around Watlington in Oxfordshire was an enjoyable and interesting day. Breakfast at the Coach & Horses in Chiselhampton, lunch at the Chequers Inn at Fingest, tea at Ewelme church and dinner at the Red Lion in Chalgrove.

The six churches were:
St Katherine's at Chiselhampton
All Saints' Chapel at Nuneham Park
All Saints' church at Shirburn
St Bartholomew's at Fingest
St Botolph's at Swyncombe
St Mary the Virgin at Ewelme

A guided tour and tea at Ewelme church were provided by the ladies of Ewelme one of whom is the daughter of the late Peter Tothill (an RV8 enthusiast). Tudur
Jones (organist at St David’s Catholic church in Tywyn in Gwynedd) provided a short organ recital.

The tour was organised by Charles Peers, an RV8 member and farmer near Chiselhampton, with support from his son Tom and partner with guided tours of several churches.
