Jeep stolen at Duxford The vehicle was stolen from the car park
at the Imperial War Museum at Duxford when the owner was attending a classic car
show there. The report in Classic Car Buyer says "the rare 1944 Willys Jeep
was of particular sentimental value to the owner, whose father used it while posted
at Pearl Harbour in WW2. After the War, the family moved to the UK. Subsequently
the victim inherited the Jeep, which had been bought and shipped over the Atlantic
by his father, in 1957. The Jeep was laid up in storage until around two years
ago when the current owner restored the vehicle to its original specification."
It's a sad reminder that as classic cars rise in value thieves are active
at events. See our review of a GPS tracker. |
