David Knowles has tracked down the photos of the MGBGTV8 (Flamenco Red 2630) parked outside Special Tuning at Abingdon with their front spoiler or air dam fitted. He says "at last I have the images and must acknowledge the generous assistance of Jeff Ward who had them in his collection and has said he is happy to share them with fellow members." Jeff also has a rubber bumper MGBGTV8 (Flamenco Red 2375) fitted with the spoiler. More
Jeff points out that the correct terminology for the parts is a 'front air dam' (part number STR 0189) and a 'rear spoiler' (part number STR 0190). Jeff suggests reference back to Safety Fast of September 2008, showing the front air dam with the registration number fitted less obstructively - see alongside..
The cover of the special tuning booklet featured a monochrome photo of MGBGTV8 Flamenco Red 2630. From a copy of the Factory records GD2D12630G is recorded as a rubber bumper car finished in Flamenco Red, commissioned on 19th August 1975 and despatched from the MG Plant on 31st October 1975 to BLMC Austin/Morris at Cowley as a Management Car Plan vehicle for Mr B Kearswell.
