GP - now open for bookings
MGs on Track major season opener event at Silverstone's famous
Grand Prix circuit is now open for bookings. The event is on
Monday 22nd March and there are 120 places available
on the MGoT website. MGoT

This is a three session per hour day on Silverstone's Grand
Prix circuit. Each session lasts 20 mins. MGoT expects each
car to have over 2 hours of track time during the day assuming
no stoppages. Two sessions will be for MGs on Track and one
session will be mixed marque. Once all the MG session bookings
are in MGoT will assign the sessions on the basis of experience,
so that one MG session will be more suitable to beginners and
the less experienced track day drivers and the other MG session
will be for the more experienced. The mixed marque session is
listed as a separate event on the MGoT website and is open to
all compatible cars e.g. Triumph, Austin Healey, Mini, Lotus
MX5 and similar marques.
Beginners please take note
Silverstone has a unique policy requiring anyone who has never
driven on a track before to be assessed by an instructor before
they are allowed out on track. This is a tricky logistical problem
at the beginning of the day if MGoT has a large number of first-timers.
If there are a large number, then it might be difficult to get
everyone assessed without some loss of track time. Unofrtunately,
there is nothing MGoT can do about this. No other circuit imposes
this restriction and MGoT can only use a limited number of Silverstone
staff to do the assessments. Please note that this requirement
only applies if you are a first-timer on any circuit. It is
not applicable if this is your first time at Silverstone, but
have driven on other tracks.
Booking is only through the MGoT website
You need to use the 'Book and Pay' button on the website event
page to secure you place. Online payments can be by credit or
debit card and are the only way to secure a place. Take care
to go to the right event page - the MG dedicated sessions (80
places) are listed separately from the mixed marque session
(40 places). Please remember to add your MG Car Club membership
number to your website profile before booking to get the special
MG Car Club member price. |
