Swiss
enthusiast buys an Aconite MGBGTV8 through the V8 website |
 |
Don Parrott placed an advert on the V8 website on 18th August
and received calls from Germany, France, Holland, England and
Switzerland. "The photos on the V8 website sold the car
- the Swiss chap had studied them very carefully before flying
over!"

A
Swiss MG enthusiast, Markus Amhof from Basle, flew over
to England at the weekend to buy Don Parrott's exceptional,
low mileage MGBGTV8 which he had seen advertised on the
V8 website. He came with the cash, looked over the car,
drove it up the road with Don and then said "that's
enough - it drives well and feels just right. It's an
honest car and the best I've seen". So they drove
round to Don's bank and paid in the cash together watching
the teller count the notes for credit to Don's account.
With the deal complete, Markus then set off for Dover
to drive the V8 back to Switzerland. Meanwhile we have
contacted Victor Rodrigues
at the V8-Register Switzerland to let him know another
V8 was heading his way to join their active group - some
35 MGV8s owned by 31 V8 members .
Don had read our comprehensive
guide to buying and selling an MGV8 and noted the
"safe
payment" section. He also mentioned he had received
serious enquiries in response to the advert from Germany,
France, Holland and England and said "it was clear
the good quality photos on the additional page really
helped sell tha car" Don was sad to see the V8 go
but delighted it had all gone so well. (27.10.09)
