Ask
anyone who has been to Croft if its worth
the trip and I know what the answer will be - what
a great circuit! The MGoT track day is on Friday
22nd July and offers an opportunity for extending
the trip to include a mid-summer weekend near the
River Tees in a beautiful part of |
North
Yorkshire so bring along your family and
friends.
Croft circuit is just off the A1, near Croft on
Tees and is a stunning 2.1 mile circuit. The super
fast sweeping bends of the Jim Clark Esses and Barcroft
lead to the challenging Sunny in/Sunny out combination
and the technicalities of the Complex and Hairpin
before the home straight. Work out how to take Clervaux
and Hawthorn bend to get you through the Chicane
quickly and hurtle down the long back straight before
Tower Bend throws you back towards the Esses and
Barcroft again. Its a hell of a circuit thats
got something for everyone.

What
did a V8 member think of his first track day?
Ian Robson contacted MGoT after his first track day saying
"tanks for a great day - I was really impressed with
the organisation - all went really smoothly - as a driver
new to this type of event (1st time on a circuit) your
buddy system was great, as was Barry's instruction. A
combination of the instruction, being in a beginner group,
being labelled a beginner and some really friendly, more
experienced drivers in the paddock gave me the confidence
to get the maximum out of the day. Really nice people
will be the abiding memory - everybody keen to help -
lots of good advice and a really eclectic mix of MGs from
standard to exotic made for a great day. The cones indicating
braking points, turn in and apex also made it much more
enjoyable for the novice - I would definitely recommend
any MG owner to try it once. I shall be back!!
