The new ContiWinterContactTM TS830 has outstanding braking performance on icy and wet roads. High block rigidity in the tread pattern centre coupled with a high number of sipes provides enhanced braking performance on icy and wet roads. The silica mixing technology is the HAFT tread mixture (HAFT = Hydrophilic Adhesion Fluid Technology, a special mixture with a high grip) provides greater grip on snow and ice and on wet road. And the rolling resistance by the silica blend is further reduced.
Al Barnett says "I have watched the discussion on winter tyres with interest as I have recently purchased a new set of Continental Winter Contact TS830 tyres for our Skoda Octavia estate. They were supplied and fitted on my steel winter wheels by our local Kwikfit in Dorking for £364.00. They were ordered on the internet with a fitting appointment included in the arrangement. I have previously been a bit wary of Kwikfit but on this occasion I was met by one of their staff as I parked the car which was very impressive. They not only did a good job but did not charge for taking a tyre off an old Saab wheel which I am converting into an RV8 emergency spare.

The new winter tyres replaced 7 years old Vredensteins which had given good service but were going hard. I was out this morning on hard packed snow and ice and at no time did the car slide or the wheels spin. I have been convinced of the benefit of winter wheels and tyres for some years now and an added bonus is the summer alloys stay looking better for longer."
