cooks in the ancient Indus River civilization prepared
their meals 4000 years ago, the results may not
have been much different to some of the dishes you
might see today in an Indian restaurant. That's

a Cambridge archaeologist Jennifer Bates reported
                              in the magazine
Science last month. What connection does Jennifer
have with curries and V8 enthusiasts you may be
wondering? Well Jennifer is Ian Quarrington's niece
and she attended several annual V8 Curry nights
when they were held at a pleasant restaurant in
Cambridge a few years ago, helping Ian with organising
the private room and arrangements. Jennifer has
now returned to Cambridge for her DPhil. | | |
