The Black Factory V8 advertised for sale by Chris Vernon was sold within 10 days on the V8s for Sale webpage on the V8 website. Chris says "my V8 went very quickly for the asking price and to the second enquirer, I obviously asked too little! The V8 website is obviously the place for a no hassle sale to
people who know V8s. I am very happy that it has gone to a good home, a guy called Mike Davies who lives in Mortlake with a fine collection of cars. He says he will join the MG Car Club and come to events so I look forward to seeing her again. See you at MG Live if not before."

Dorothy is back and being fettled at MGBhive
Chris added a footnote that his Midget is back from Aswan in Southern Egypt and is now with MGBhive for some fettling. Fellow members may recall the NEWS reports we carried of the V8 website of the epic journey Chris was on with his MG Midget "Dorothy" with fellow Midget enthusiast Roy Laycock in his Midget, "Bridget", driving overland to South Africa. The reports of crossing Syria with the unrest there at the time were exciting but once in southern Egypt and East Africa the reports were simply extraordinary. In Aswan Chris was bitten by a dog and sadly had to withdraw from the challenge drive to South Africa.
Look back at the reports.
