Following the sale of his rare RV8 in Old English White to a buyer in France, Peter Kuruber advertised his "MGR" registration plate for sale and made a prompt sale. Peter reports "it was difficult putting a price on the plate, so I discussed a valuation with one of the many dealers for a valuation and then decided to offer it at £500. I am pleased to say it sold, actually within a
few days of it appearing for sale on the V8 website. The
buyer did not quibble and agreed to pay half the £105 retain/transfer fee as well." Peter mentioned the buyer, who has a 1980 MGB which has just been restored at great cost, says he bought the plate because he thinks it should be preserved as part of RV8 history. He hopes to be able to own an RV8 in the future. Peter adds "I don’t know what other RV8 owners have had to pay for their MGR plates" but would be pleased to hear from fellow RV8 enthusiasts on their experiences of getting an MGR plate.
