van den Boorn posted a query on the V8 Bulletin
Board - "Does anybody know a source for a new
RV8 heater control facia panel? Brown and Gammons'
part number is ZKC5114 but it is |
                            | no longer available. In the archive I found that
this part is also used on several Rover cars (for
example Rover 200) and the Austin Rover part number
                              is CDP 5116."
 Peter
Benns responded saying "I had to replace
my heater panel a few years ago because the markings
had worn off. Strangely it is the same panel on
a Sherpa van. Absolutely identical and only a few
pounds from a scrap yard!." Peter Wood
then added "since it looks exactly the same
(except that the footwell symbol is where the windshield
is and vice versa) and all the connections are the
same, I guess it's a panel from a later model Sherpa
van. Why British Leyland/Freight Rover, or whoever,
decided to reverse the positions of these connections
who knows. If I get a moment tomorrow I will send
you a picture so you can see whether the difference
is acceptable. I will do an RV8NOTE when I get time."
