The RV8 suffered
damage following a crash into a pole. The car is located in
France. Only 4 days to go.

But as the days followed a mystery over this online bid
developed.
Jeremy Kinsey noted on 8th September he was "not
sure what happened on the RV8 sale on eBay. One min was
for sale and then it's sold showing a £1!"
Alan Rennie responded on 9th September saying "it's
very odd as yesterday there was still 3 days to go - now
bidding is closed with a bid of £1 and "no
bids" when we could see yesterday there were a stream
of bids. One can't help thinking that with an eBay name
like "dodgyscam" the offer was a little odd."
Richard Withington concluded the thread on 10th
September saying "it is most likely that the seller
accepted an offer outside the eBay procedure and withdrew
it from sale. I understand if this happens then eBbay
marks it as 'sold' at a nominal price of £1. Selling
through eBbay can be effective but also expensive so perhaps
the seller has an offer he could not refuse - or of course
it could all be a scam!
