Goodwood
Revival 2010
programme is mouthwatering
As mid September approaches the Goodwood Revival programme looks
mouthwatering! It will be another "magical step back in
time"
As Classic & Sports Car magazine says "it's hard to
believe, but the Jaguar E2A - the car that arguably lead to
the Jaguar E-Type - is due to make its UK racing debut at this
year's Revival".

The
Goodwood Revival has a special appeal for many classic
car enthusiasts - yes there is the nostalgia of
the style and feel of the event which is wonderful,
but the action on the track is not a gentle parade
of cars of an earlier age. The racing is real and
frenetic with an excitement that is intense. The
meeting runs from the relatively quieter Friday
through to a busy Sunday. |

The
features this year will be a tribute to John Surtees
who first raced on four wheels at Goodwood 50 years
ago, a gathering a 40 BRMs, a Battle of Britain
70th anniversary, a pre-1966 aircraft concours,
the rarely seen Jaguar E2A and Brian Redman in an
Aston DBR1. |

In
previous years several members have commented it
has been difficult meeting up with fellow V8 enthusiasts
at the Goodwood Revival, particularly members new
to the V8 Register, so this year we thought we might
try and be a little more organised. So we have some
meeting times |
at three locations - the circuit
plan above shows the three meeting points around
the circuit. Walking round the circuit is an enjoyable
way of seeing the cars on the track from different
parts of the circuit, not least through the fast
corner at Fordwater and rounding St Mary's - a corner
which needs care. Note: tickets
must be bought in advance - there are no tickets
sold at the gate over the three days. |
