Track
day downunder
Franck Morand (Mirage 0158) from Thailand and Clermont-Ferrand in
France reports he recently enjoyed a track day at Wakefield during
a visit to Sydney, Australia. (Nov 2004)

Franck
Morand has
a broad grin as he goes out for another session in the Porsche Turbo4x4
Franck says "I was invited for a track day at Wakefield
Raceway just outside Sydney, just two days after my birthday.
Fantastic gift from my Australian friends. I drove a Lotus Elise
and had a go with a locally made Seven, but spent most of the day
at the wheel of my friend's Porsche Turbo 4x4, with a specially
tuned engine (400 hp plus) and semi slick tyres. Terrific! The grip
was simply phenomenal, and the "kick in the buttocks"
with the turbo is unbelievable. The V8 will feel like a wheelbarrow
afterwards. But don't worry, I still love my MG and will do so for
ever".
