Curry Night 2006An annual V8 Curry Night has been a tradition of the V8 Register
from its formation in 1978. It is usually held in early February
and starts the programme of V8 Gatherings for the year! This year
the V8 Curry Night is on
 Saturday 4th February 2006

The Radhuni, a spacious curry house in the centre of Flackwell
Heath, just north east of Marlow in Buckinghamshire.

 How
              do you find the Radhuni?
  Flackwell Heath
is in the red circle in the top left quadrant of this map - it is
east of the A404 and just south east of J4 M40. This map shows the
M4/M40/M25 motorway box with the A404, a dual carriageway link road
(marked in green) on the western side which runs from J8/9 M4 up
to J4 M40, that passes close to Marlow on the lefthand edge of the
map above. Download a larger copy of this

 Routes from M40 J4 and from M40 J3

 Routes via M40 J4

  Coming from
the North via J4 M40 You come off the M40 at J4 and take the third exit from the
roudabout (signed for A404 - High Wycombe centre), then take the
fourth turn on the right from the A404 into Daws Hill Lane. At this
turn, a roundabout, get in the righthand filter lane for the traffic
lights signposted for Flackwell Heath. This road takes you south
east over the M40 for about 3 miles to Flackwell Heath. As
you approach Flackwell Heath the road is called Heath End Road.
You will find the Radhuni in the centre of the village on the righthand
side (see the photo below) in a modern block. The free car park
is not very well sign posted but you will find it behind a Budgen
supermarket on the near side of Old Kiln Road.
 OR
Coming from the South from J8/9 M4 via M40 J4
Then you travel up the dual carriageway (A404 - the road marked
in green on the lefthand side of the maps above). The approach to
M40 J4 is an uphill stretch. At M40 J4 you follow the route instructions
              above.

              Coming from
              the East via M40 J3

Coming from the East on the M40 leaving at J3
 Take
the first exit off the roundabout to the North of M40 J3, then turn
right at the next roundabout, go under the M40, then left at the
next roundabout, then go under the M40 again and up the hill to
the centre of Flackwell Heath and turn left at the roundabout. You
will find the Radhuni in the centre of the village (see the photo
below) in a modern block. It is a zig zag route to navigate involving
passing under the M40 three times!

Once in the centre of Flackwell Heath
  The Radhuni
is at the centre of Flackwell Heath - it is marked with a red
              ring on the map above.

on the corner of Old Kiln Road. The free car park is not very well
sign posted but you will find it behind a Budgen supermarket on

 Set
              menu this year
There will be an extensive set menu priced at £15.00
per person offering assorted starters, a choice of 10 main courses
all at varying temperatures from Kurma to Vindaloo, desserts &
coffee. If any member has a specific dietary requirement, beyond
vegetarian, the restaurant can cope with this given advanced warning.
Drinks will be logged and paid for personally. The restaurant layout
has round tables seating between 8 and 10 people so it will be very
simple to mingle and chat to folk on other tables. So no limbo dancing
skills will be needed to leave the table this year to get to the
loo! There is ample parking in a free car park just 50 yards
              behind the restaurant.
The Radhuni has been booked for 7.00 for a 7.30pm start.

 Advance
warning - disruption expected on the M25
For members coming to the V8 Curry Night from Kent, Surrey or Sussex
and are likely to use the western side of the London's M25 orbital
motorway, you need to note a news item from Brian Moyse.
Brian Moyse used to commute from Surrey to near Hammersmith in West
London every day and reports serious congestion seems likely as
the M25 is due to be dug up between Junctions 12 & 15
(on the western side near London Heathrow Terminal 5) from the 5th
January 2004. Fortunately Brian has been relocated to the Camberley
office of his organisation just in time to avoid the commute and
              the M25 chaos! Brian
mentions a useful webpage on the Highways Agency's website.
