| 358 Replacing
                  an RV8 radiator cover
The plastic radiator cover often breaks at the offside mounting
point. Here Peter Garton describes his experience with the problem
and how he fitted an upgraded replacement.. (Apr
                  12)

The original RV8 radiator blanking panel is, in fact,
quite fragile and tends to fracture around the mounting bolts
at the top. This is easily caused, for example, by leaning on
the cover when working in the engine bay. In my case I discovered
a hairline crack at the top left hand mounting bolt (on the
offside) and decided to improve the cover by using the alternative

supplied by Clive Wheatley, which is a sort of glass fibre composite.

As one can see from the photos, the offside edge has had to
be trimmed because of the oil filter unit which has been mounted
further forwards by the MGOC Workshops when they installed the
                  EPAS system on my RV8.
