Richard Woods posted a note on the V8 Bulletin Board noting "as the RV8 is still new to me, but should the ashtray have an insert, metal or plastic?" (Nov 10) Alan Spence, Hugh Boddington and John Taylor each responded saying they had a separate removable insert in the ash tray unit in their RV8. George Wilder then clarified the position saying "the ashtray in the RV8 is part number 14B2016. There is no separate part number for the insert. The ashtray has an insert which is removable for cleaning as shown in the illustration alongside taken from page 22 of the English version of the RV8 Driver's Handbook.
