brake pad securing clip and pin set for the RV8 four pot calipers
John Cummings reported difficulty in obtaining replacement clips
for his RV8 front disc brake calipers in a V8 Bulletin Board
posting saying "I have tried the usual suppliers without
success. Alternatively does anyone know if the same clips were
fitted to any other make and model of car?"
Victor Smith responded "Clive Wheatley mgv8parts acknowledges
they are out of stock but he is working hard to find an alternative
source to produce a batch so he will have some stock on his
shelves. Unfortunately Clive's previous local supplier in the
West Midlands has gone out of business and he understands the
original maufacturer of the clips went out of business some
time ago."
Pat Boghossian added "try Rimmer Brothers, they
do a 4-pot vented disk conversion for the SD1 - see www.rimmerbros.co.uk/Item--i-GRID009016.
The retainers and pins look identical! Ask if they could supply
them separately or if not, ask for details of the manufactuer
or supplier and contact them direct." John Cumming replied
saying "the SD1 clips are wider (2.5 inches) than those
on an RV8 at 2.25 inches."
John Taylor suggested trying "Brake Warehouse at
www.brake-warehouse.co.uk
as they sell the pins & clips." John Cumming replied
he had ordered a set from the Brake Warehouse and will let us
know if they turn out to be the correct parts.
