| Please
note this is a sample V8 Bulletin Board and is not
the fully functioning one which is undergoing final testing
now. This sample is available on the V8 Website so V8 Register
members can see the format and style the new V8 Bulletin Board
will have. There will be useful advanced search facilities
enabling members to search for the messages that interest them
by posting date, key words or topic. There will also be an archive
for earlier postings. |

Update on Thursday
15th April 2004
The new V8 Bulletin Board is starting final testing this weekend
and should be available for members messages by the end of next
week. This webpage is
a sample of the new V8 Bulletin Board format with a link to a sample
Message. Our aim has been to create a bulletin board which will
attract good quality messages from MG V8 enthusiasts and hopefully
a number of those postings will go on to be contributions to our
two workshop notes series.
V8 Online Auction coming
As soon as the V8 Bulletin Board is up and running well we are planning
to run a V8 Online Auction starting with a wonderful collection
of RV8 literature released at the time the model was launched in
1992. It should prove interesting. Shortly after that auction, we
have another auction lined up ready to go. All bids will be posted
on the V8BB. (7.4.04)
Free bulletin board service closing
The bulletin board service we have used since the V8 Website was
launched in May 2001 has been provided free by AgnesVestris but
unfortunately, and somewhat suddenly, that service is coming to
an end. It's clear the V8 Bulletin Board has become the leading
online forum for MG V8 enthusiasts so a new V8BB is being set up.
We hope it will be running before long, so there may be a break
in the availability of the service for a few weeks. Our aim has
been to encourage good quality postings on the V8BB on technical
and spares topics which are a real benefit for our members. Many
of the postings have been taken into the two workshop notes series.
We feel it is desirable to avoid the V8BB becoming a lightweight
chatbox or forum which we feel would be likely to turn off most
V8 enthusiasts. We are planning to continue making the V8BB available
on an "open to all" basis and not introduce a members'
only or restricted access arrangement as, for example, is used on
the VSCC website. A new V8BB is being made now and should be available
soon. (11.3.04)

You are welcome
to post a message
or response
It could be a technical query or clarification, a maintenance or
spares tip, a report of good service from a V8 specialist, or news
of an event of interest to fellow V8 enthusiasts. As we welcome
new members, this service is provided on a "free and open to
all" basis and is not restricted by password access.
When making a posting
do note the system automatically signs off your posting with your
name.
V8 Bulletin Board aims
to attract good quality postings in terms of content subject matter
and accuracy. It is not a chat box so any "grumping or flaring"
or other undesirable postings will be moderated at the sole discretion
of the V8 Webmaster and V8 Chairman.
Periodically the postings are archived to keep the list of postings
to a manageable length. Please disclose your name and email address
in your posting.
