V8 Dinners - Thatched House Hotel at Sulgrave
V8 Dinners at the Thatched House at Sulgrave were well attended and memorable events in the 1980s. They were held in a marquee on the lawn in front of the hotel as the numbers were so large they could not fit in the hotel's dining room. The rising cost of the marquee gradually made the ticket price uneconomic so the annual event ended. Shortly after the Thatched House was sold and became a private house.

In recent years an informal V8 Supper is held at The Star Inn just along the lane from the Thatched House on the Friday evening of the Club's annual International MG Meeting at Silverstone. It's a delightful Hook Norton pub which has a delicious menu and of course the landlord looks after its fine real ales with care!
Walter Kallenberg from Germany, one of the original members of the V8 Register, sent in a note saying "Brigitte found in my old papers this view of the "The Thatched House" where the V8 Register had its annual dinners in the 80s". (22.7.07)
