V8s on tour in the Highlands

V8 members on both the Club's four day European Event of the Year based at Aviemore and the V8 Two Day Highland Tour based at the Dundonnell Hotel near Ullapool enjoyed generally good weather. The two day tour routes were popular with plenty to see and visit. The second day up in Assynt had glorious sunny weather. The V8 Dinners at the hotel saw the traditional eight 4 minute toasts and toasts on the final night from Annie Yates (to "Prince George") and Brigitte Kallenberg to "Angela Merkel"! Probably the most amusing toast was to the "Destruction of the Midge" by Mark Randle. Further photo reports next week.

The Dundonnell Hotel provided a warm welcome and excellent dinners. The EEOY organisation by the Caledonian Centre team was exceptional.

Early morning at the Dundonnell Hotel as 40 V8 members and their friends prepare to set off for home or on further touring in the Highlands in bright sunshine. Only four miles up the hill on the Destitution Road to Braemore Junction black clouds and rain - typical of the variety of weather in the North West Highlands.
