special thin wall spark plug socket with an integral joint is available in the
USA which enables the socket to be positioned in the tight recess alongside a
spark plug in a Rover V8 engine which then enables you to apply a convenient turning
action on the spark plug. The socket comes with a 3/8" to 1/2" drive
adapter to suit the socket set drive size most UK members have. |
Over
the years many fellow V8 enthusiasts have resorted to simply grinding down a standard
plug socket to get a "thin wall" socket!
This
quality tool can be sourced in the USA and one of our US based members, John Targett,
brought over a batch for sale to fellow V8 members at the Club’s annual MGLive!
meeting at Silverstone in 2005. I am checking with him whether he still has them
available as I know he plans to come over for the V8 Curry and the MG Show at
Stoneleigh in mid February 2012 and may be able to bring some sets with him.
