A group of RV8 enthusiasts meet up for a monthly natter at the Coach & Horses on the A612 at Thurgarton which is between Lowdham and Southwell, not far from Newark in Nottinghamshire. The natter is on the third Thursday of each month from 8.00pm to 10.00pm. The natter has only been going for about a year so the numbers are small, but the group is very friendly and welcomes fellow V8 enthusiasts. They have a cross-section of MGs from an early SA through to MGAs, MGBs and V8s. As four RV8 members attend regularly, Richard Davies felt many of the increasing number of RV8 and MGBV8 members in the area might not be aware of the natter or the V8 group.

Richard Davies and his fellow RV8 enthusiasts are trying to develop a more social side to their meetings. They are planning to attend the Brooklands MG Day on the 4th April 2004 and then make a weekend of it. They have booked a county house hotel for the Friday and Saturday nights and agreed with their wives that they will enjoy the Saturday doing what they want to do (there are many interesting places to visit nearby including the RHS gardens at Wisley and the National Trust house and gardens at Polsden Lacey) and then Brooklands on Sunday for Richard and his chums.

One of the members of the natter is organising a scatter rally which the RV8 members intend supporting. They also intend supporting the Hoveringham Classic Car Show again this year - last year the proceeds of £1,500 were split between the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire air ambulance and the MacMillan nurse fund. The event takes place on Sunday 6th June in the field behind the Marquis of Granby Pub. Another event they will be supporting is the Cadwell Park Track Day in June which Bob Welch of the Lincolnshire Centre has arranged again.
