The
next V8 Tour in the popular series is planned for the long weekend
from Friday 26th to Monday 29th September
2008 and will be based at
the Ripon Spa Hotel at Ripon in North Yorkshire. Details of the programme
of visits and events are alongside.

Ripon Spa Hotel is a beautiful Edwardian building only five minutes
walk from the ancient city of Ripon and its magnificent cathedral.
Standing in landscaped gardens, the hotel offers good Yorkshire fayre,
real ales, log fires and traditional hospitality. It is ideally placed
as a base for touring the Yorkshire Dales. The hotel is a Best Western

Programme
of events for the weekend
Friday 26th September 2008
Members arrive during the afternoon and meet up at the bar and then
dinner at the hotel.
Saturday 27th September 2008
Morning: Following breakfast, a scenic drive to a steam train ride
on the Embsay Railway and then drive through Nidderdale to the Forbidden
Corner, an amazing four acre garden full of very unusual follies.

Afternoon: Short scenic drive to Brymor ice-cream for those who fancy
a special ice-cream made on the farm. Brymor Ice Cream is a working
farm with ice cream parlour serving huge range range of ice creams
plus teas & coffees. Scenic drive back to the hotel.

Evening: dinner and cabaret.
Sunday 28th September 2008
Morning: Following breakfast, a scenic drive to Newby Hall House and
Gardens with coffe on arrival and then a tour of the hall and gardens.

Afternoon: Scenic drive to the National Railway Museum at York with
a tour of the museum. Refreshments are available at the museum. Scenic
drive back to the hotel.

Monday 29th September 2008
Morning: Following breakfast, scenic drive to the Black Sheep Brewery
at Masham where the group will have a guided tour of the brewery followed
by a complementary drink (beer or tea/coffee). The brewery has a avery
good bistro for those wishing to have lunch before departing for home.
