Cut outs in under bonnet the sound deadening
felt
Paul Smith posted a note on the V8BB seeking information on
the location of the cut outs for the tops of the SU carburettors
and for the nearside of the radiator. (Jun

Paul's query was "has anyone got the correct position and
dimensions of the cut-outs for the radiator and carburetors
in the under bonnet soundproofing panel?"
Taking measurements from the felt panel on his Factory MGBGTV8,
Victor Smith produced two drawings which are alongside. He notes
"the circular cut outs for the carburettors are 6cm
diameter but I think it would be wise to cut them as 8cm
diameter just in case my measurements taken under the bonnet
are slightly inaccurate. Having the cut outs slightly larger
will not be a concern unless you are seeking a concours finish!" |
