California
Cup Autotests on Saturday 23rd June 2007
Just a quick reminder from Neil Lock (SW Centre) that entries are
now being accepted for the California Cup Autotests on Saturday 23rd
June 2007 held at the Club's annual International MG meeting at Silverstone.
Supplementary Regulations and entry forms are available online at
the MG Car Club South West Centre website - see the link opposite
- or from Club Office on 01235 555552. Closing date for entries is
two weeks prior to the event.
California Cup and BMC Trophy
The California Cup and BMC Trophy are for teams of three from the
same geographical centre, the only difference being that the California
Cup is for MGs only whereas the BMC Trophy includes non-MGs providing
that they are from a "pre-cursor" company to British Leyland
(ie BMC Trophy teams can be all-MG but do not have to be so). To be
clear, you may enter as many teams as you like for each competition,
but you cannot enter the same team for both the California Cup and
the BMC Trophy.
Register Trophy
The Register Trophy is open to teams from the Vintage, MMM & T
Registers - all three cars in a team must be from the same Register.
The MGB Register Trophy is restricted, surprisingly enough, to teams
of MGBs according to the Supplementary Regulations. The MGB Register
has asked that the MGB Register Trophy be awarded to the highest |
South
West Centre website
placed
driver of an MGB; this shall be the case for
future events
but will only apply to the 2007 event should there be no team
entries by the closing date.
Teams entered into the Register Trophy competitions may also
be entered into the California Cup or BMC Trophy competitions.
Teams may be formed on the day, but this must be done prior
to signing-on. There are, of courses, also individual classes
for all types of MGs from the oldest to the newest with all
point in between. There is even a class for non-MGs.
Signing on
Signing on is at 9.15am in the main car-park on the right as
you enter the circuit. The tests should be underway by 10am
theres plenty of space for spectators to experience
the sights, sounds and smells of the first competitive event
of MG Car Club Silverstone.
Marshalls needed
As always, marshalls are desperately required for timekeeping
and cone-spotting duties - so please do your best to press some
volunteers...!
