Some thirty V8
members and their friends met up at the Star Inn at Sulgrave for
an informal supper on Friday 22nd June for what has become an informal
start to the Club's annual three day International MG Meeting at
Silverstone. Usually members sit in the garden and enjoy the warm
evening sun but this year the wet and cold weather made a switch
to the dining room necessary.
A V8 Dinner is planned for next year as the final part of
the V8 30th Anniversary week of events in 2008. It will probably
be held on the Saturday evening and we hope it can be at the BRDC
Clubhouse as in 2003.

What is the
V8 Register connection with Sulgrave?
During the decade after the formation of the V8 Register in 1978,
an annual V8 Dinner was held on the Saturday evening of the Club's
Silverstone weekend. The venue was the Thatched House Hotel in Sulgrave,
just a short distance along the lane from the Star Inn, but in the
mid 90s it closed and has become a private house.
