The annual International MG Weekend Meeting at Silverstone organised by the MG Car Club is always a popular meeting for V8 enthusiasts and this year, styled MG80, it proved to be wonderful yet again. Members enjoyed a full racing programme on both days and much more including members' 20 minute track laps sessions from 9am on Sunday morning plus the opportunity of meeting up with fellow V8 enthusiasts at the V8 Marquee. The weather was kind again with a beautifully sunny and fresh day on Saturday and only a few local light rain showers during Sunday. The dedicated V8 parking area alongside the V8 Marquee was in a new location between the foot of the two bridges over the Club Straight - see the view from the bridge embankment above. It proved a popular spot.

The V8 AGM at Sunday lunchtime, chaired by David Waterton, saw two new Committee members elected - Al Barnett (V8 Events) and Mike Russell (V8 Regalia).
For full details of the new committee members and their contacts, see V8 Committee.

Chris Vernon (Black 2217) was with us for Friday but not the weekend - his daughter-in-law had chosen either the leMans weekend or MG80 for her wedding. What kind of choice is that! Chris is the organiser of the V8 Party to the annual 24 heures du Mans event. (Photo: Victor Smith)

More photos of the weekend from members are very welcome - just send them to the V8 Registrar, V8 Register - MG Car Club, PO Box 888, London SW14 7YT or better still send them as an email attachment to the special email address at v8largefiles(at)v8register.net

Note: we use the name(at)v8register.net format for displaying email addresses on this website because we are aware there are people who scavenge email addresses from websites using automated software systems and then harvest them for use by spammers who then of course send out their endless miserable crap emails, often laced with viruses and spyware. Just make the necessary adjustment to the addresses when using them.
