Martin Simmonds
advertised his RV8 on 26th June and it has sold in the last few
days. He says "my RV8 Woodcote Green 1966 is now sold so
please update the web site advert. I've a few spares (air con parts,
water pump etc) to sell on and I'll send this information shortly.
Sad to loose the RV8, hopefully they'll still be going strong when
life frees up a little more time to enjoy them, i.e. kids left home,
job less hectic, decent garage! Thanks for all your great work supporting
the website, pity (non V8) MGB owners aren't as organized or perhaps
passionate?".
Victor Smith comments "They
are probably just as passionate but unfortunately the MGB Register
chairman, Bernard Rengger, spends much of his time being critical
of the new directors work at Silverstone and of Victor Smith's work
in carrying out a thorough and professional appraisal of the New
Club Office proposals last August. You can see his letter to me
at Bernard
Rengger letter. His ignorance of the serious concerns over
the project's poor rationale, large project risks and hopeless viability
(the project would have pushed the Club into insolvency within 4
years) was astounding. Back in the 1980s the V8 Register prepared
an abstract of the V8NOTES which applied to the MGB model and produced
several boxes of spiral bound copies which it gave to the MGB Register
free of charge as a gesture to help them launch a BNOTES series.
Sadly we received little thanks and no published BNOTES series has
resulted so far as one can see".
