More on RV8 Toolkits
An anonymous contributor provides a short note on an alternative torch for the RV8 toolkit as a supplement to Notes 9 and 63. (October 00).

In my toolkit I happen to have an original torch. Whilst it is of an adequate quality, members who would like to procure something similar but of an infinitely better quality, might like to consider the Philips halogen pocket lamp. It too has a cord so that you can hang it around your neck and the dimensions are virtually identical. It also fits into the canvas RV8 tool roll perfectly.

The Philips Halogen Pocket Light (Model No SBC2001N) retails at £4.75 including VAT. The wholesalers are Lampways Limited in Bradford who can be contacted on 01274 473444. Ask for a very pleasant Yorkshire lass called Kendra, who will tell you the retailer for your particular area of the country.

RV8 Workshop Note 9 set out a checklist of the contents of the RV8 toolkit with their Britool codes. For members wishing to contact Britool in Cannock, Staffordshire the number is 01922 419977. I do not have a particular contact there but they are very helpful and will dispatch a catalogue and price list upon request. Do ask for the Industrial Range Catalogue by the way. Their tools are first rate quality and some selected items are now being sold through Halfords superstore outlets.
