Private
sale - automatic V8 Roadster
Indigo Blue 4279 was professionally built by Trevor Taylor
Conversions at a cost of £19,000 and delivered to the
original owner at the beginning of 2000. The shell was rebuilt
and virtually every panel replaced. The engine is a 3.5 litre
SD1 V8 with the block blueprinted by Osselli and the heads are
Real Steel stage 3. The gearbox is a Borg Warner 65 box that
was supplied and fitted by Maidstone Sports Cars without disturbance
to the original shell and using MGB standard automatic interior
fittings. The last owner from whom I purchased the car carried
out an extensive £7,000 programme of works to the highest
standard by Clive Wheatley and Surrey Classics (receipts available)
and I have replaced the carburettor with a new 4 barrel Holley
and standard cam to tune the car for touring rather than sprinting.
Speedo shows a mileage of approximately 52,000 since original
build. Offers over £10,000. 070911

sale - Factory MGBGTV8 in Harvest Gold -
SOLD 5.2.12
Harvest Gold 0157 is a Chrome bumper 1973 Factory V8. Bought
via the V8 Register in 2006 has covered 16,000 reliable miles
in my ownership including very enjoyable runs from Sheffield
to Goodwood. The car has always been garaged, is used in the
summer only and is in excellent original condition. Regularly
waxoyled it has never required full restoration although I had
the rear inner and outer sill sections and driver's door replaced
by Steve McKie in 2009. The engine was rebuilt on a new block
28,000 miles ago by Beer of Houghton and is still very fresh
having been serviced regularly. Recent work includes refreshing
the car's braking system by replacing callipers, pads, shoes,
drums, flexi hoses, brake booster and replacing the tyres. Other
work includes replacing the radiator and water pump and overhauling
the front wiring loom and alternator. MOT and tax runs to June
2012. Reason for sale is that we have new baby and the V8 isn't
getting enough use. Price £7,500. 101111

Blaze 1890 (1974) has 58,971 miles has suspension and
engine modifications carried out some years ago by Motobuild
so it handles really well. Comprehensive servicing records and
receipts from the early eighties with photos of a total rebuild
during the early nineties and subsequent receipts. My V8 has
not been hidden away for sunny days but has been used often
for pleasure and occasionally for work. So although the mechanics
are in good order and regularly maintained, the bodywork has

sale - Pre-production MGBGTV8 - SOLD within
3 weeks
Bronze Yellow 0095 (1973) is one of five Development Pre-Production
cars made before the MGBGTV8 model was in full production at
the Abingdon Factory. It has the original registration OBL 123
L. It has come to light after being tucked away for many years
but now needs someone to carry out a full restoration to return
it to its former glory. The car has been written about in many
books and was known to the late Geoff Allen, the former V8 Historian
and Archivist. There is a letter
from him in 2005 commenting on the provenance of this car. The
car is restorable and would not need reshelling but make no
mistake this is a job for a competent car restorer and not a
quick make-over job. Basically the car needs new sills and some
new panels and, as there is a glass roof in the car, a new secondhand
GT roof is available to the buyer. There is also a replacement
V8 dashboard with no extra holes drilled. All these items will
be included in the sale price of £2,500. There
are four new boxed V8 wheels and a full sill kit available for
separate negotiation. (10.10.07)

sale - very attractive Factory MGBGTV8 - SOLD
22.8.07
Moonraker Blue 2408 (P registration 1975) has been owned
by me since the late eighties but I have not used it very much.
I have quite a full service history. In 1993 I took it to Birmingham
and had it fully restored by a retired BL engineer. His friend,
who was employed in the BL engine department, worked on the
engine. I am confident that they did a thorough job and have
all the necessary paper work to support this, as well as full
photographic evidence! In total I spent £15,000 - must
have been mad, but once you have started on these projects it
is not easy to stop! I have only done only 4,000 miles since,
so really think I should move it on to a good home. It has only
been on the road in the summer months and has been kept in a
fully heated garage. It is fully taxed and tested. Offers in
the region of £10,000. (3.6.07)

sale - Geoff Allen's V8 Roadster - SOLD
early June
Ermin White 4001 (ADO232174) is the V8 Roadster Geoff
built for himself in 1980/81 using one of the first rubber bumper
LHD shells manufactured in 1974 which had become a Factory "tug".
The V8 engine is standard with the Factory carburettor setup
and air cleaners, and a standard V8 gearbox with overdrive.
The suspension is lowered slightly and the car is fitted with
a front spoiler. The wheels are the Factory standard Dunlop
composite pattern fitted with Michelin MXV tyres. This V8 has
been used on a daily basis so it is not a concours or museum
piece. It's an opportunity to own the well built and sorted
car that the late Geoff Allen made for Jean and himself to use
and enjoy. It was built with the experience of a lifetime spent
rectifying MGs off the production line, so he knew them inside
out. Reduced

sale - MGBGTV8 in Regency Red - SOLD in
only just over 3 weeks!
Regency Red 0548 (1973) was originally produced in Teal
Blue but the body shell was subject to a major professional
restoration in 1995. I bought the car in September 2004 knowing
that both doors, both sills, one rear wing, and part of the
floorpan needed work, and the paintwork was a bit faded. After
professional repair, the vehicle was subjected to a full respray
(including the engine compartment) in June 2005. I have the
receipts. The reason for sale - I just have too many MGs, including
another factory V8 and a 1955 TF1500. Price

Sale - Factory MGBGTV8
Harvest Gold 0157 is a 1973 chrome bumper car in excellent
original condition both inside and out, and has had only two
previous owners. The previous owner bought it in 1987 when it
had covered only 1,500 miles, and immediately had it waxoyled
by Beer of Houghton, the MGBV8 specialists. I bought the car
in 1990, have waxoyled it every year since, and used it mainly
in dry conditions. It has always been garaged and consequently
has virtually no rust and all original metalwork. About 12,000
miles ago (in 2000), Beer of Houghton rebuilt the gearbox, fitted
a new 3.9 high spec engine, and re-sprayed the car below the
waistline to remove the inevitable stone chips. Recent work
includes new brake and clutch master cylinders, clutch slave
cylinder, overhauled brake servo, and new 6v batteries. The
car has an MOT to June 2007, is very reliable, and great fun
to drive as the handling has been well sorted and the new 3.9
engine produces a huge amount of power. The reason for sale
is that I've recently bought another classic, and now don't
use the car enough to justify keeping it. Price £8,250
ono. (20.6.06)
