sale - MGBGTV8 Conversion
Inca Yellow 3060 is a 1979 car converted with V8 power by
Martin Whitelaw (an MG enthusiast and professional engineer)
with a 3.5 litre Rover engine, R380 gearbox and RV8 style stainless
steel manifolds in August 2003 when the mileage was 48,630.
The car was acquired by the previous owner in September 2002
with a genuine 42,200 miles from new. A previous concours and
condition winning car, 'INCA' had been Waxoyled and chassis
painted from new and is in good original condition. Bought by
him for every day transport, 'INCA' is equipped with fog lamps,
15" alloy wheels, remote alarm and central locking. A rear
window wiper has been added along with a load area cover, classic
leather recliners and a four speaker stereo. Rounding off the
refinements are electric windows, an intermittent control for
the windscreen wipers and a 15" leather steering |
wheel.
The handling was upgraded with a 7/8" front anti-roll bar,
negative camber wishbones, rear parabolic springs and Gaz rear
dampers. 195/60 radials complete the suspension package. Externally
a special tuning style air dam has been fitted to assist engine
cooling. Carburation is factory style twin SUs and ignition
is provided by a Mallory twin point distributor. A full length
fabric sunroof was supplied with the car in 1979 and is in excellent
working order. Electronic odometer and rev. counter provide
instantaneous calibration for gearing/tyre size or number of
cylinders. A new battery was fitted in September 2006 and is
kept at its optimum with a wired-in trickle charger supplied
with the car. A new steering rack was fitted at this year's
MOT. Last year INCA completed the Kimber Run, covering a total
of 658 miles at just under 26 mpg. It has been rolling-road
tuned to 150 bhp.
Since conversion INCA has travelled 9,868 miles bringing its
total mileage to just over 58,000. INCA is taxed until 30th
October 2008, and has an MOT until 28th May 2009. It comes with
full history from new in two files. The agreed valuation for
insurance purposes is £7,500 and INCA is for sale at
