Tour of the Hook Norton Brewery
Friday 13th June 2008 - morning
Two hour guided tour of the 8 storey brewery with a beer tasting at the visitor centre, followed by an informal lunch at the Pear Tree Inn nearby. It is hoped the steam engine which provides much of the power at the brewery will be running that morning - it's over 100 years old and a magnificent sight when running and driving a series of belts and cogs which transmit the power through the building.

What are the arrangements and timing for the visit?
The plan for the visit is to meet in the visitor car park alongside the visitor centre at the brewery at 9.45am. The guided tours of the brewery start at 10.00am prompt and end at noon in the visitor centre. The tour ends in the brewery's new viistor centre with free samples of the beers and a half pint Hook Norton beer glass.

Following the tour we will have an informal lunch at the Pear Tree Inn, one of the brewery's pubs in the village, which is at the entrance to the lane leading to the brewery. Following lunch you can then follow a route through the lanes from Hook Norton and then via Deddington to Silverstone, arriving at the Circuit at around 3.00pm.

Please take particular care when driving on the narrow lanes in the vicinity of Hook Norton as horseriders are a common sight on the roads and lanes. Above all do not take blind corners on country lanes at speed in case a horse and rider are just beyond.
