Visit to the BMH Body Plant at Witney
Monday 9th June 2008 - morning

The availability of MGB bodies from British Motor Heritage body plant at Faringdon was a key factor in the low cost RV8 development and production project back in the 1990s. Today the plant is at Witney just west of Oxford producing a wide range of good quality parts. The continued availability of these essential parts enables MGV8 enthusiasts to maintain their Factory MGBGTV8s and create V8 Roadsters. So why not visit the plant in action on Monday 9th June 2008 and see how they are helping to maintain the breed that is MG?

What are the arrangements and timing for the visit?

The plan for the visit is for the group to meet at the car park at the BMH Body Plant in Witney at 10.00am for the comprehensive two hour tour which will begin at 10.15am. The event manager, Mike Russell, will be your contact for the day.
Caution - please note the BMH Body Plant tour is not available to members with a heart monitor or pacemaker. The plant uses very high electrical voltages in the welding processes that will be in operation during our visit.

Afternoon tour now available

Mike Russell reports "Spaces for this tour have filled up very quickly and I am now offering an afternoon tour. Should anyone booked for the morning prefer the afternoon please let me know and I will do my best to juggle the bookings around. John Targett was asking about an afternoon tour I remember. There is a maximum of 9 places left so if you're musing on it I would advise prompt action.

If you have emailed Mike Russell since the 10th April could you please send your message again as he was away last week and his spam filter went into turbo-mode when faced with 501 mainly garbage emails and shot the lot out". Contact Mike Russell on 01628 531343 if you would be interested in joining an additional tour that afternoon. (20.4.08)
