Maintenance Day
Sunday 8th June 2008 - all day
This event will provide V8 enthusiasts with a range of presentations
on interesting MGV8 and RV8 maintenance topics. Each speaker will
describe a maintenance operation and highlight the key areas of
concern and ways to tackle the job effectively. The presentations
will be supported by slide shows and in some cases with V8 parts
on a table to illustrate points highlighted by the speaker. The
event will be held at the clubhouse at Sywell Aerodrome, just east
of Northampton.
What topics will the speakers cover?
The five presentations will cover the following topics from the
following selection:

Who are the speakers and members of the technical panel?
Gordon Hesketh-Jones who has extensive experience of mainatining
his MGBGTV8 which has covered over 400,000 miles, much touring in
the UK , Mainland Europe, the Nordic countries and some of the former
East European countries. Unfortunately
Gordon is unable to attend as he will be recovering from an operation.

John Hoyle who runs Hoyle Engineering which has developed
and supplies the front and independent rear suspension modifications
for both the MGV8 and RV8 models.
Steve Newton who is part of the well known duo at Clive Wheatley
mgv8parts.
Bob Owen who frequently provides useful comments on auto-electrical
matters in V8BB threads and as workshop notes.
Dave Wellings who has owned his MGBGTV8 for many years during
which time he has undertaken a bare metal refurbishment and frequently
provides useful advice as V8BB postings and workshop notes.
Clive Wheatley the well known MGV8 and RV8 expert who runs
his specialist service and spare parts operation near Bridgnorth
in the West Midlands.
Where is Sywell Aerodrome?
It is just a mile or so north east of Northampton, not far from
both the M1 to the west and the A1 to the east. Location maps are
available online which you can download to help you find the aerodrome.

What are the arrangements for booking a place for the V8 Maintenance
Day?
There is a booking form and an online ticket sales webpage for each
event where you can book one or more places for that event and then
buy a ticket or tickets. Do note our online sales system is not
sophisticated - we have no shopping cart facility so you will have
to purchase tickets for each event separately - unless you opt for
a V8 Pass covering the whole programme except the V8 Dinner!
What does a ticket include and what does it cost?

package comprising tea or coffee on arrival, a buffet
lunch and the presentations at the concessionary member rate
of £25 including VAT. |

Guests who are not current members of the V8 Register and
MG Car Club are welcome to attend the event. The cost for
a non member is £40 including VAT. |
